The winners of The Love Island 2019 have faced a shock prize money twist in tonight's live show.

This evening's live results saw Caroline Flack join the final four couples and announce the winners LIVE as chosen by the public were Greg O'Shea & Amber Gill.

Rivals Tommy Fury & Molly-Mae Hague were runners up, Ovie Soko & India Reynolds finished in third and Curtis Pritchard & Maura Higgins ended the series in 4th place.

Although they won Love Island 2019, the series wasn't over for Greg & Amber.

Host Caroline unveiled that the £50,000 prize fund wasn't just theirs to take away then and there.

Caroline revealed two sealed envelopes, explaining that one had £0 inside and the other the full £50,000.

Greg and Amber then each had to select an envelope, with Amber ending up with £0 and Greg the £50,000 prize.

Caroline put Greg to the test as he was asked if he was on the show for love or just for the cash: He could either keep the £50,000 for himself or share it half and half with Amber.

"This is the moment we find out if you're here for love or money," Caroline said.

"Of course I'm going to share it with her" said Greg without hesitation.

As a result, Amber and Greg each left the villa with £25,000.

Meanwhile, Love Island isn't quite over for this year.

The Love Island 2019 reunion show airs on Sunday, August 4 from 9PM.

Caroline Flack will be joined by all the islanders from across the series as we get all the gossip from the Isle of Love and find out if love is still blooming outside of the villa.

ITV2 say the reunion episode will relive all our favourites moments from the series, and this is one hot party you won’t want to miss!

Love Island will return for TWO series in 2020, airing a new winter version alongside the usual summer run.

Starting from January, the new winter series will be set in Cape Town, South Africa with applications open now.
