The Voice 2018 coaches prepare for battle

The Voice UK 2018 coaches get glam in new photos ahead of the battle rounds.

It’s the start of The Battles on The Voice On Saturday weekend as coaches, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs start to cut down their teams.

Over the past seven weeks of blind auditions, each coach has built up teams of ten talented acts.

You can recap the contestants on The Voice UK in the battle rounds here.

However each coach can only take five of their original acts through to the knockouts.

They'll pit their contestants against one another in a series of musical duels.

Both acts will share the stage, singing the same song.

After each performance, all the coaches will offer their comments and opinion but the pair's mentor alone will decide the winner who will go in to the knockout rounds.

However there will be a second chance for the loser, as each coach is once again able to save one of the battle 'rejects' and steal them for their own team in the knockout rounds.

Those lucky enough to be stolen will switch teams and go forward into the competition but those left will be out of the contest for good.

Those that make it through to the knockouts will remain in the competition with a chance of winning a recording contract with Polydor Records.

Meanwhile, host Emma Willis will return backstage to offer comfort and words of advice as the acts head out on stage.

The Voice UK battles will air from next Saturday night, 24th February at 8:30PM.

Those that survive the battles will head through to the knockouts.

The live shows will then follow before the public choose the winner.
