Once again it was up to the celebs to decide who would take part in the next challenge, with viewers voting who to keep in the camp.

Called Ding Dong Merrily Up High, two contestants were required.

The Vamps’ James McVey put himself forward as did both actress Emily Atack and X Factor singer Fleur East.

After a bit of a squabble, it was Fleur who joined James on the trial.

They headed down to the trial clearing where Holly and Dec explained everything.

Dec said: “This is Ding Dong Merrily Up High and it takes place up there 30 metres above the valley. The two of you have got 15 minutes to make your way across our Christmas themed obstacle course collecting 6 stars as you go ho ho.”

He continued: “As you can see the stars are attached to presents, each one you collect is worth a meal for camp.”

Holly then explained: “And to add to the festive flavour, Fleur you will be dressed as Father Christmas and James you will be dressed as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

“Rudolph will travel down the side of the course nearest to us and as soon as you reach a present with a star, you have to grab it and throw it across the gap to Father Christmas and then Fleur you put it in your sack.”

“Oh that other thing we’ve not mentioned.” said Dec. Holly added “It’s quite a big thing we’ve not mentioned.” Dec said “Rudolph will be blind folded for the entire duration of the trial.”

“So Father Christmas will be Rudolph’s eyes and ears and talk him through this” said Dec.

At the end of the trial, the pair returned with four of the possible six stars.

“You did fantastically well” said Dec. “One of the biggest fears of my life would be Bungee jumping, I had no idea I’d have to do it.” said James. “Blindfolded” said Dec, “Dressed as Rudolph” said Holly. Fleur counted the stars, they’d got 4 meals for camp.

Father Christmas and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer left the trials area, Dec said “Come back for Christmas Eve, she’s (Holly) been a very good girl…most of the time”
