One unlucky campmate will become first to leave the jungle TONIGHT as the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2018 eliminations kick off, ITV has confirmed.

The survival contest is enjoying one of its highest-rating and most talked-about series ever thanks to the big-name contestants.

But time flies when you're having fun, and sadly it's time for the vote-offs to begin.

Hosts Dec Donnelly and Holly Willoughby have announced that the first boot-out of the series will take place in tonight's live show.

"I got a little shock when Holly said that, and I’d read the script!" laughed Dec during an appearance on ITV2 spin-off Extra Camp.

"I still got a shock! I can’t believe one will go tomorrow!"

Meanwhile, a shocked Holly lamented how quickly the first half of the series has passed, saying: "I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it."

Not all of the campmates will be in danger, however.

Earlier this week they split in to four teams to compete for safety in the Immunity Games.

The winning team will earn immunity from tonight's elimination, avoiding the embarrassment of being first to leave camp.

At the moment, Team Roos - Fleur East, Harry Redknapp and James McVey - are top of the leaderboard.

However, the Games are not over yet, with at least one more event still to air.

All eleven celebs will compete in the Rancid Race, downing foul bushtucker drinks to earn much-needed points.

Bosses will reveal the results of the Immunity Games before the public vote opens.

As for who else might escape the chop, Extra Camp host Scarlett Moffatt provided an interesting statistic.

No-one under the age of 30 has ever been eliminated first on I'm A Celebrity.

This suggests that Fleur, James and Emily Atack will escape the chop even if they miss out on immunity.

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight at 9.00pm on ITV, when Dec and Holly will announce the first celeb to be axed.

If the pattern of recent series continues, there will be no boot-out in Saturday's show, which is only an hour long.

Daily vote-offs will then resume on Sunday in the run-up to next week's grand final.
