I’m A Celebrity’s Amir Khan donates part of his fee to charity

Amir Khan has donated part of his I’m A Celebrity fee to charity.

The boxer is rumoured to be getting between £300,000 and £400,000 for his time in the jungle.

Amir became the seventh celebrity to be evicted in last night’s episode, leaving just four celebs in camp.

It was boxer Amir Khan who we said goodbye to seventh on Friday night after he received the fewest votes to stay from viewers at home and was voted off.

He lasted 22 days in the jungle and faced a total of five Bushtucker Trials – including one which he quit.

In his live exit interview, Amir said: “I’m doing really well, I’ve had such a great time, honestly. I never expected it to be this good.

“I’ve never seen the show, it was a massive surprise for me when I got in there.”

Following his exit, it’s been revealed that Amir has given a portion of his fee to children’s charity Barnardo’s, which he is an ambassador of.

Barnardo’s chief executive, Javed Khan, said: “I am very grateful to Amir Khan for this fantastic gift and his continued support as an ambassador for Barnardo’s, which helps thousands of vulnerable children, young people, carers and parents every year.”

He added to The Sun newspaper : “It’s exactly the generosity of people like Amir that make it possible for us to provide our network of vital services across the length and breadth of the UK.

“We wish Amir well in the jungle and will follow his progress.”

After Amir’s exit, those left in camp are radio host Iain Lee, Made In Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, Hollyoaks hunk Jamie Lomas and Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine.
