I’m A Celebrity 2017 campmates win ’emails from home’ at the Forgotten Library

Iain Lee and Jamie Lomas were the only celebs to miss out on messages from loved ones

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestants got to hear from their loved ones yesterday after Amir Khan and Jennie McAlpine visited the ‘Forgotten Library’.

For the latest challenge, the duo were led to a dark room in the jungle, filled with shelves of dusty books.

However, it wasn’t all on them, as bosses had set up a computer back in camp. One at a time, a celebrity’s name would appear on the computer, with a hint about what their password was.

Once the hint had been relayed to Amir and Jennie, they had to search the books at the library to find the password.

Each correct password entered in to the computer within the time limit would unlock an email from home for the corresponding celebrity.

Eventually, all but two celebs won their messages. Jamie Lomas lost his after the campmates entered the incorrect password, while Iain Lee intentionally forfeited his to save time.

After the group enjoyed a possum tail dinner, thanks to Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo’s full house in the earlier Bushtucker Trial, the emails were finally delivered.

Stanley Johnson’s wife Jenny missed him so much that she wrote him a poem. “Tis three weeks before Christmas, and all through the house, I’m searching for someone, found only a mouse,” it started.

Jennie’s son said her family was missing her “so so much”, while Dennis Wise’s wife joked: “You don’t seem bothered by critters, so don’t expect me to protect you from spiders at home!”

Vanessa White’s sister called her “amazing and brave” and said: “I always look at you as my role model.”

Rebekah Vardy’s footballer husband Jamie owned up to voting for her to face a few of the Bushtucker Trials.

“We knew you could do it and you have gone out and proved us right,” he wrote. “I might have voted a few times, but only because I wanted people to see the real you.”

Amir’s wife Faryal teased him about his fears of spiders and snakes. “I’m so proud of you and how well you have faced these Trials,” she said.

“Your screams are the funniest, I’ve made it your ringtone for every time you call me!”

Finally, Toff’s mum gushed: “It’s hard to put in to words how proud we are. Your friendship with Stanley must be the cutest friendship of the year. I’m beaming with pride!”
