The results of the first I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2017 public vote have been announced, with the contestants splitting in to pairs for this year's launch twist.

Previously, fans of the ITV jungle show voted to decide which campmates should team up for its first few days.

Hosts Ant and Dec revealed the chosen duos as they met for the first time at a Gold Coast villa.

Jamie Lomas, Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, Stanley Johnson, Rebekah Vardy and Vanessa White initially gathered at the plush pad, before their 'buddies' arrived one by one.

In their last taste of luxury before life in the Australian outback, the buddies then got to know each other over a 'final feast'.

I'm A Celebrity 2017: Who are the pairs of 'buddies'?

  • Boxer Amir Khan and The Saturdays singer Vanessa White
  • Footballer Dennis Wise and WAG Rebekah Vardy
  • Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo and YouTuber Jack Maynard
  • Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas and Corrie actress Jennie McAlpine
  • Comedian Shappi Khorsandi and politician Stanley Johnson

Jamie gave Jennie a table flower as a gift. "I’m made up me and Jennie are buddies," he said. "I know Jennie from back home, we’ll have a good laugh together."

Shappi - who is reportedly a Labour supporter - predicted she'd do well with former Conservative MEP Stanley, despite their differences.

"Stanley and I are such polar opposites we can only get on," she remarked. "He’s the cheese to my onion, the salt to my vinegar."

Meanwhile, Jack and Toff found themselves thrashing out the details of their last encounter.

"It was good to come here and see a familiar face, I can’t remember when I met you but I guess I was drunk," recalled Jack.

"I can’t pinpoint exactly which nightclub it was, but I know it happened," agreed Toff.

The Made In Chelsea star commented: "If I could have picked my partner, I would have chosen Jack, he’s young and nimble. He's my man!"

It wasn't long before the celebs' jungle jeopardy began, as Ant and Dec revealed they'd begin with only rice and beans to eat.

To avoid the meagre offering, they'd have to win one of ten 'Meal Tickets'.

"Until you’ve won all ten, some of you are going to go hungry," Dec explained.

The first five tickets were up for grabs when they embarked on the challenging journey in to camp, involving 334 foot-high planks, a skydive into water and the 'Wretched Wreck'.

I'm A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV, continuing tomorrow at 9.00pm.
