Cameron Cole made an emotional announcement in Monday's Big Brother 2018 highlights.
Last week, Cameron had confided in Lewis about his sexuality after suggesting most people he knew in the outside world were unaware.
Following the scenes, Cameron's dad appeared on Bit On The Side and said he was "very proud" of his son.
In last night's show, Cameron again sought out Lewis for his advice.
"I'm just thinking about doing something," Cameron told Lewis before asking for his help.
Lewis gathered the housemates and said: "I need the room's attention. Cameron's got something to share with the group."
"I dunno how I'm gonna do this. It's very uh... awkward and uncomfortable. I don't quite know how I'm gonna say it..." Cameron began. "I can't actually say the word but I'll just spell it out..."
"But um, and I just hope you all sort of think of me in the same way..." Cameron continued before struggling to make his announcement.
"Do you want me to ask you?" Lewis encouraged, "Cameron, are you gay?"
"Yes," he replied to cheers from the group who embraced him with a big group hug.
There were a lot of tears as the housemates showed their support for Cameron, with Lewis even selling 150 of his Big Coins to Big Brother for a party.
Elsewhere in Monday's show, away from his announcement, Cameron found himself clashing with new housemate Hussain Ahmed.
"He just makes me feel uncomfortable and awkward with him constantly walking around... He's p***ng me off," Cameron complained. "Every place you go he's pacing around like he f**king owns the place."
Meanwhile, Hussain took aim at Lewis and Cameron's friendship.
"The reason why Cameron is so miserable is because of Lewis," he concluded in a chat with Isabella and Tomasz. "I feel as though Cameron isn't enjoying himself as much as he should be because of him.
"He seems f**king miserable all the time. He doesn't f**king talk. Lewis' is too intense, like Cameron's 18 in the Big Brother house. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your experience."
Big Brother 2018 continues Sunday-Friday nights at 10PM on Channel 5.
