Big Brother's final series on course to be least watched ever

Latest Big Brother UK viewing figures and ratings

Big Brother 2018

The final series of Big Brother 2018 is currently averaging fewer than a million viewers, based on overnight ratings.

The run launched to a record low audience of 900,000 viewers on Channel 5 last month and Sunday night saw a series low of 575,000 tuning in.

New Channel 4 show The Circle, which has been airing against Big Brother, overtook for the first time last week and repeated the victory on Sunday - albeit by just 75,000 viewers.

So far, Big Brother's overnight viewing figures have averaged just under 700,000 viewers. This is down around 200,000 on last year's average overnight audience.

In official consolidated numbers - which take into account those watching on catch up in the seven days after an episode airs - the current average across the first two weeks is 1.1 million.

This compares to the 1.2 million series average in 2017, 1.6 million in 2016 and 1.4 million in 2015.

Channel 5 confirmed ahead of this year's Big Brother launch that it would not be bringing the show back in 2018.

Currently a total of eleven housemates are in the house with the series just passing the halfway point.

The contestants left include 26-year-old Training Consultant from Rhondda Valley, Akeem Griffiths, 21-year-old Freelance Graphic Designer from London, Brooke Berry, 18-year-old Vlogger from Norwich, Cameron Cole and 23-year-old Customer Service Agent from Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, Cian Carrigan.
