Big Brother 2018 contestant Ellis Hillon has spoken out after her removal from the house.
20-year-old Ellis Hillon was kicked off the show by show bosses just one day into the series after old Twitter posts resurfaced.
Big Brother bosses announced earlier this month: "As a result of our investigation into offensive and unacceptable posts on social media, Ellis Hillon has been removed from the Big Brother House."
The messages sent from a now deleted account allegedly linked to Ellis included use of the 'N Word' and Tweets about the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Ellis was given the boot on her 20th birthday.
Speaking out for the first time this week, she said: “It’s been horrible, I just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up."
Recalling being called to the Diary Room and shown the messages, Ellis told the Daily Record:“I couldn’t believe it, I was totally shocked. I saw ‘2014’ on the sheet of paper and I definitely couldn’t remember writing that stuff on Twitter.
“But I wasn’t going to say that I didn’t write it because I wasn’t going to lie. I always want to tell the truth.
“I responded, ‘yeah...but years ago’ because it was so long ago.”
She added: “I do regret writing that back then and I would never say anything like that now. I was 15 – you don’t know what’s going through your head at that point as a teenager.”
Ellis told the paper that she currently 'doesn't want to go outside', while she denied claims she had been sacked from her job.
The Scottish 20-year-old said: “We’ve got a board on the wall with customers’ feedback and I always get great comments for always smiling and going that extra mile for all our customers.
“I just really wish I’d been given a chance on Big Brother to show that I’m a nice person.”
During the show, we saw Big Brother tell Ellie in the Diary Room: "Big Brother has been made aware of social media postings that contain offensive language."
BB asked her to read a laminate containing the alleged postings, and asked: "Can you tell Big Brother if you wrote these and posted them on your social media?"
"Yeah but years ago," sighed Ellis.
Big Brother stated: "Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language and will be removing you from the house immediately."
Her other housemates were then told of Ellis' removal - but not the reasons - as they were told to pack up her belongings and return them to the storeroom.
Lasting less than 24 hours in the house, Ellis set a record for Big Brother's shortest stay ever.
Big Brother 2018 airs Sunday-Friday nightly on Channel 5 at 10PM.
