It follows a controversial 'altercation' between Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas during the show. Ryan was given a formal warning by Big Brother after Roxanne complained that he had been 'violent' towards her.
She claimed in the Diary Room: "I'm just a little bit in shock. I went from being upset to angry now. He actually punched me like a boxer would punch a bag. It wasn't banter, it wasn't a joke."
However the vast majority of viewers felt Roxanne overreacted as she accused Ryan of 'assaulting her', while the soap star was left in tears by the claims Roxanne had made against him.
A spokesperson for Ofcom said previously it has received a total of 25,257 complaints about the episodes.
Today, Ofcom announced it was "investigating whether this programme broke our rules on offensive content".
Roxanne ended up leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house in the wake of the events.
A spokesperson for Roxanne said at the time: "Roxanne decided to leave the CBB house late last night after deliberating for two days with some sensitive issues she felt strongly about. She has now been reunited with her fiancé and family and thanks everyone for their support during her time in the show."
"When I watched that footage back when I left the house, which is the first thing I did... I got it wrong, I got it really wrong," she announced.
Roxanne concluded: "I absolutely overreacted, I was out of order and I got it wrong. I massively regret it.
"I've had to take a massive step back but I don't blame everyone. If I was watching this I would've been confused by my reaction. I apologise massively to everyone I offended."
She's also said to have written a personal letter of apology to Ryan, who went on to win the series.
It was the final ever season of Celebrity Big Brother to air on Channel 5.
