Britain's Got Talent: The Champions bosses have reportedly AXED a wildcard act from its grand final over health and safety fears.

Ten contestants have made it to the last round of the pre-recorded spin-off series, which sees BGT fan favourites return to battle international acts for glory.

Like the original show, one unsuccessful hopeful was also going to appear as a bonus contender.

Despite boss Simon Cowell teasing the wildcard before audiences, his plans have seemingly gone wrong at the last minute.

According to the Daily Star, the judges chose an unidentified death-defying act to take the extra spot.

They were due to perform again tonight (Tuesday 30th July) amid filming of the final at Wembley Arena.

But after witnessing rehearsals, health and safety chiefs apparently decided their routine was too dangerous for TV and dropped them from the line-up.

"The act Simon chose was very dangerous but would have been amazing on TV," a source told the publication.

"However, alarm bells were ringing during rehearsals at Wembley. Health and safety producers talked it through and decided it was just too dangerous to broadcast.

"Even though the show is pre-recorded the risk was too great."

Therefore, the concluding episode will now only involve the original ten finalists.

Five made it after topping an audience vote in each of the preceding heats, while five earned Golden Buzzers from the judges and hosts Ant and Dec.

The panel once again features Simon alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

Britain's Got Talent bosses have yet to comment on the story.

This is the second health and safety controversy that the ITV talent contest has faced in recent months.

During the thirteenth main series in May, stunt performers Brotherhood pulled out of the live shows just hours beforehand.

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions will air on ITV from next month.
