It has now been a decade since Cypriot father and son Demi and Lagi Demitriou first auditioned for the ITV talent contest.

Their signature blend of Greek dancing and Michael Flatley’s Lord Of The Dance thrilled the judges and viewers alike.

While they didn’t quite win series three, finishing in fourth place, they are one of BGT’s most fondly-remembered acts.

So it’s unsurprising that they’re looking set to return for Simon Cowell’s new ‘all-stars’ spin-off Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

It will see former contestants compete against some of the most successful Got Talent hopefuls from around the world.

According to the Daily Star, Stavros Flatley are now ‘locked in’ as one of the contenders.

“They are one of the most iconic names ever to take part in the show,” a source said. “Signing them up to the show was a no brainer for Simon.

“A lot of other names are still in the mix but Stavros Flatley are locked in.”

“They will be a perfect addition to the show,” a separate insider commented. “Everyone will love them.”

The news comes after the duo made a guest appearance on the latest regular series this year.

Magic group 4MG made the duo appear out of a school locker as part of their semi-final performance.

Judge Amanda Holden exclaimed afterwards: “You know I’m a huge fan of Stavros Flatley!”

The Champions begins filming at Wembley Arena next month, with Ant and Dec back as presenters.

Like the American spin-off of the same name, it is due to feature significant differences to BGT’s usual format.

So far, bosses have only confirmed one participant – superstar singer Susan Boyle, who announced her involvement earlier this month.

Other rumoured candidates include Collabro, Paul Potts and Ashleigh Butler with her new dog sidekick Sully.
