Ant and Dec caused chaos with dogs on Britain’s Got Talent this weekend.

The pair found themselves proving quite the distraction during an audition that aired on ITV2’s More Talent.

Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell reacted with excitement when dogs Pippa and Merlin were taken on stage.

But as handlers Jo and Darna tried to introduce themselves, the dogs had other ideas.

They seemed more interested in hanging out with Ant and Dec backstage instead of performing for the judges.

Once the act eventually got going, their routine to the Ghostbusters theme split the judges.

Simon said: “Without being rude I think it was the worse dog act we’ve had.”

However Alesha was more sympathetic.

She said: “They were out of sync, you need to work on the choreography more but I enjoyed it.”

“There were some great moments in there. I’d like to see more from you,” added David.

With three out of four yeses, the act made it through to the next round to the surprise of Stephen Mulhern.

You can watch all the chaos unfold in the video above.

Over on the main show this weekend acts that impressed included mind reading duo Mind2Mind, made up of a couple from Milton Keynes and Ukraine. They left the judges stunned after showcasing their telepathic talents, getting both Simon and Amanda involved in their audition.

More acts getting through were the Truro Cathedral Choir from Cornwall who sang Can You Feel The Love Tonight? and 15-year-old magician Dan Rhodes, who cut Amanda in half using his cardboard contraption.

Finally, closing the show was 31-year-old singer Leanne Mya from London who gave a touching performance of Sam Smith’s Lay Me Down to get four yeses from the judges.
