This evening saw the Britain’s Got Talent 2019 auditions continue with their second round on TV.

Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell and David Walliams are back on the panel with Ant and Dec back on the sidelines.

Acts are again hoping for at least three or more yeses to get through.

One of the contestants we met this week was Jonathan Goodwin, a magician and stuntman from South Wales.

Jonathan said before his audition: “Basically anything your mum told you not to do as a kid, that’s what I do for a living.”

He explained: “I would love to do my own show. I travel a lot for my work. I’m a single dad and it’s very hard to do that job and make my little girl pancakes in the morning.

“I’ve always wanted to come on Britain’s Got Talent. Maybe the reason I haven’t up until now is I’m afraid of being judged, which is silly when what I do is about facing your fears no matter what shape they’re in… even if they’re Simon Cowell shaped.”

Promising a dangerous audition, Jonathan revealed to the judges how he was going to lock himself in a straight jacket before hanging upside down and trying to escape.

But in a shock twist, he added: “I’m going to be doused in fuel, hung upside down and set alight.”

“What?!” reacted a stunned Simon to the claim.

With help from Dec, Jonathan was strapped into the jacket before being hung upside down via a trapeze.

An assistant then set Jonathan alight via a flame, as the panel watched on in awe.

“I’ve never seen anything like that!” reacted Ant and Dec from the sidelines.

“I can see why you’re bold!” quipped Alesha.

“It was terrifying, you’re absolutely nuts!” remarked Simon.

“Thank you!” responded Jonathan, who promised bigger stunts as he made it through with four yeses.

More acts this weekend included 12-year-old Kerr James who took to the stage to sing Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding. “He just becomes someone else!” react Ant & Dec from the sidelines to his smooth singing.

We also met mini-bus driver and part-time singing ventriloquist Greg, hobby horse performer VJ Clarke and electronic accordionist Igor Outkine.
