Try outs for the new series continued at 8PM on ITV on Saturday night.

And Simon found himself on stage to help out with one try out.

Simon volunteered to be a part of a knife throwing act performed by Belarusian Andrei Gomonov.

Simon said: “I really want to know what it feels like to have an axe thrown at me.”

He took the place of Andrei’s usual assistant Daria Sheremet.

Fortunately everything went to plan for both Daria and Simon, leaving the stage without a scratch.

In an interview with The Sun, Andrei admitted: “This was high stakes. It was more dangerous because I didn’t know what Simon would do.

“I know my partner. She knows not to be scared and not to move.”

Simon reacted: “I wanted to feel what it’s like. It is terrifying.”

While David quipped “You could’ve killed him when you had the chance.”

With four yeses, Andrei and Daria made it through to the next round.

Other contestants appearing on BGT this weekend include singer Brian Gilligan. He takes to the stage to perform a heartfelt version of ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ from A Star Is Born.

Another act we meet is comedian Barbara Nice. Her fella thinks she’s dog-sitting, but will she be returning home with a tale of four yeses?

Also wanting to impress with their unique talent is harpist Ursula Burns from Belfast.

Plus, there’s comedian Steve Best, sound healing practitioner Eeshi-Ra-Hart and throat singer Jayson Stilwell.

Britain’s Got Talent 2019 continues Saturday nights on ITV.

Those who make it through stand the chance of competing in the live semi-finals later this year.

There they will perform for viewer votes, with a £250,000 cash prize and spot on the Royal Variety Performance up for grabs.
