Britain’s Got Talent 2018 fans are speculating that the winner could appear on the American version of the show after Simon Cowell teased a ‘big surprise’.

As usual, the ITV talent contest will reward this year’s champion with £250,000 and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance – but it seems that’s not all they’re getting.

At the start of tonight’s first live show, Simon revealed he’s got another mystery prize up his sleeve.

“They don’t know, not even the producers know, I’ve got a surprise for the winner at the end of this series,” he grinned.

“Not even ITV know. A big, big surprise. It’s worth winning, that’s all I can say.”

The media mogul did not give any clues or hints about what he’s plotting.

However, one theory is that it could involve an appearance on America’s Got Talent.

Earlier this month, US broadcaster NBC announced an ‘all-stars’ edition of the show, named ’America’s Got Talent: The Champions’.

It will see some of the most successful and memorable contestants from AGT’s history return for another shot at glory.

But they won’t be the only competitors – as it will also involve some of the best acts from various global versions of the Got Talent franchise.

Some social media users reckon this means Simon will offer this year’s BGT winner a place on the special season.

@Zesus440 wrote on Twitter: “I’m thinking that Simon’s “big surprise” for the #BGT winner is that they’ll be given the chance to compete in America’s Got Talent’s international All Star’s later this year.”

For now, Simon is keeping tight-lipped, so hopefully we’ll all find out about his master plan when the grand final airs on Sunday.

In the meantime, Britain’s Got Talent’s live semi-finals continue every night until Friday at 7.30pm and 9.30pm on ITV.
