Meet the line up below!

Taskmaster series 12 cast

Alan Davies

Comedian, writer, and actor.

Says Alan: “Lots of people I know have been on and they all told me, ‘It’s really great fun, you should do it.’ Lou Sanders is a huge advocate of Taskmaster, Jo Brand has done it, Lee Mack, lots of people. I know David Baddiel counselled Victoria Coren Mitchell before she signed up. Victoria and I live near to one another. We had the same reservations about public humiliation, and also a lack of confidence in our ability to be quick-witted and versatile enough, and make a good fist of it.”

Desiree Burch

Comedian, writer and actor.

Says Desiree: “It was truly delightful to show up to a place around a bunch of people and do something fun that you’ve never done before, and are never going to do again. My background is in theatre and working with performance artists, and Taskmaster is very similar to that sort of work where you’re trying to accomplish something in real time, and you’re allowing yourself to be witnessed doing it. It’s an attempt, so it may very well fail.

“We’ve all watched each other and ourselves fail, especially when you look at someone else and you’re like, “How did you figure out how to do that?” I feel like that’s the perennial appeal of Taskmaster. My only regret is that I wish I’d done better at certain tasks. Everyone who’s done this show has walked away from challenges like, “I should have done that differently.”

Guz Khan

BAFTA nominated comedian.

Guz says: “I’m very averse to looking goofy and doing goofy stuff. It’s where I come from. I’ll be honest, I like watching other people do it, but me being put in that position? Absolutely not. But a mate of mine, Jamali Maddix, was in Series 11 and I thought it was time to play outside the comfort zone, so I was like, ‘You know what, maybe I should do it too.'”

BAFTA winning impressionist and actor.

Says Morgana: “My friend Jess Knappett did it and she had the best time ever, so I knew I was in for a treat. My game plan was to not have a game plan. Just let God decide.”

Victoria Coren Mitchell

Writer, presenter and professional poker player.

Victoria says: “I’ve been asked before but I didn’t do it, mainly because I had a small child, and I didn’t like leaving her behind anywhere. This series coincided with her first term at school. I was worried about being at home by myself, and I thought I might end up at the school, up at the window, claws on the glass, shouting, ‘What are you doing with my child?’ So I thought it would be quite good to be physically removed to a different situation, facing some distracting challenges.”

As always, the five elite comedy minds await their chance to impress the Taskmaster who will deliver his merciless verdicts on their efforts before administering points and awarding the ultimate prize in entertainment, and all time; a gold representation of his own head.

Wax seals will open, dreams will be made and/or broken, and Little Alex Horne will be wrapped around his master’s little finger diligently taking notes, recording times and offering very little assistance.
