Here’s where Britain’s Got Talent’s Hollie Steel is now

A decade on from her very first Britain’s Got Talent audition, Hollie Steel is still singing.

And she’s sounding more amazing then ever.

Back in 2009’s Britain’s Got Talent, Hollie was a stand out singer aged just 10.

However Hollie prompted a fierce debate over children on the show after breaking down in tears in the live semi-finals when she forgot her words.

It didn’t hold Hollie back however, with Simon vowing to allow her to sing again.

Hollie went on to make the final, finishing behind Diversity and Susan Boyle.

Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, Hollie recalled her eventful time on the show: “Before I went on to do it… I didn’t have my mum backstage and it was a bit like, this is new to me, it was live as well which was new to me.

“Before I went on someone said, ’50 million people are watching so don’t mess it up’. As a 10 year old I was like okay, and walked out by myself like, ‘Oh no…’.”

She added: “I’m so thankful for Simon, if he didn’t let me sing again, I probably wouldn’t be singing now.

“I’m still singing, it’s my passion, so thank you Simon! It’s never happened before, how crazy is that, I pushed back the news.”

After the show, Hollie released an album in 2010 and has continued to perform and sing and release music.

Most recently, she has appeared on stage shows including Grease The Musical.

You can check out Hollie’s original music plus covers on her YouTube page which has more than 45,000 subscribers.

Covers on Hollie’s YouTube include songs by Justin Bieber, Fall Out Boy and Demi Lovato.

The pop performances are quite different from the classical songs Hollie performed on Britain’s Got Talent, singing Phantom Of The Opera’s Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again in the 2009 final.
