Will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones returned this weekend to their spinning red chairs – together with new coach Jessie J.

Saturday (June 8) saw blind auditions begin for the brand new season this summer.

One of the contestants impressing during the opening weekend was 13-year-old Sam from Lewisham, London.

For his original blind audition, Sam performed Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan, including playing the harmonica.

Before his performance, he opened up about losing his mum to leukemia a year before.

Sam’s performance got both Pixie and Danny to spin around for him.

Sam chose to join Team Danny after the pair enjoyed an impromptu guitar session on stage, with Sam showcasing an original song, ‘Everything’s Alright’.

“Those two are made for each other,” remarked Pixie.

Once more hosted by Emma Willis, The Voice Kids is open to both talented young duos and soloists between the ages of seven and 14.

Up for grabs for the winner is a £30,000 bursary towards their musical education plus a dream family holiday to Orlando.

The public will ultimately decide the winner of The Voice Kids in the final later this year.

The Voice Kids continues Saturday nights on ITV.
