It was the penultimate show of The Voice 2019 Saturday as the 9 remaining singers performed for a place in next week’s grand final.

Members of Team Olly, Team JHud, Team Will and Team Tom all fought to stay in the competition and be one step closer to winning a recording contract with Polydor Records.

28-year-old musician Bethzienna Williams from Barry rejoined the show as the wildcard act. She returned to Team Tom together with 23-year-old Deana Walmsley and Cedric Neal, a 43-year-old Musical Theatre actor from Brighton.

Also in the live shows were Team Will’s Nxt Gen, a trio made up of Cian, Sonny and Joel, all aged 21 and Emmanuel Smith, a 29-year-old part time motivational speaker.

Making up Team JHUD for the live shows in the semi-final were 27-year-old singer-songwriter Moya and 24-year-old Nicole Dennis while on Team Olly were 23-year-old singer Jimmy Balito and 17-year-old Molly Hocking.

In Saturday’s live show, each performed a brand new song live in front of the coaches, studio audience and of course those watching at home.

A short public vote followed, via phone lines and for free via the app.

After the public poll closed, host Emma Willis took to the stage to reveal the results.

In no particular order, those put through to the final by the public were Bethzienna Williams (Team Tom), Molly Hocking (Team Olly), Deana Walmsley (Team Tom) and Jimmy Balito (Team Olly).

That meant that trio Nxt Gen, Moya, Nicole Dennis, Emmanuel Smith and Cedric Neal all went home, leaving both Jennifer and Will with no acts in the final.
