The runner up of last year’s show will return to sing his brand new single Planets.

Donel said: “I’m so excited to come back to The Voice UK stage to perform my next single ‘Planets.’

“It’s mad that nearly a year has gone by, and I’m able to come back as an artist and perform my own song that I wrote. I’m know it will just feel like home, and will be nice not to have the pressure of getting a turn from the Coaches!”

Donel appeared on The Voice UK last year where he was mentored by Will.i.am. Despite missing out on the top prize, Donel has still been signed by a record label.

The Voice UK 2019 semi-final airs tonight from 8PM on ITV.

It will feature coaches Jennifer Hudson, Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and their teams in the penultimate stage of the competition.

The eight semi-finalists – plus the still to be announced wild card act – will be singing live for viewer votes for the first time this year.

Only four acts can go through to the Final, where one will be crowned the winner and scoop a record deal with Polydor records.

Those in the live shows for Team Tom are 23-year-old from Liverpool Deana Walmsley and Cedric Neal, a 43-year-old Musical Theatre actor from Brighton.

On Team Will are Nxt Gen, a trio made up of Cian, Sonny and Joel, all aged 21 and Emmanuel Smith, a 29-year-old part time motivational speaker from London.

Making up Team JHUD for the live shows are 27-year-old singer-songwriter Moya from Jersey and 24-year-old Nicole Dennis from North London.
