Who's on Strictly Come Dancing 2019?

The line up of Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestants were confirmed by the BBC earlier this year.

They include England international goalkeeper David James, who was quickly joined on the line up with comedian Chris Ramsey and EastEnders' actress Emma Barton.

More confirmed Strictly celebs are social media star Saffron Barker, Corrie star Catherine Tyldesley, BBC Sports presenter Mike Bushell and CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual.

Joining them on the Strictly line up are Viscountess Emma Weymouth, RuPaul Drag Race's Michelle Visage, Paralympic champion Will Bayley, and footballer and presenter Alex Scott.

Completing the line up are Made In Chelsea's Jamie Laing, Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin, TV legend Anneka Rice and gold medal winning Olympian James Cracknell.

When does Strictly Come Dancing start this year?

The Strictly Come Dancing 2019 launch date will be in September as usual.

Although exact dates haven't been officially confirmed by the BBC yet, based on past years the likely air date for the pre-recorded launch will be Saturday, September 7.

The start date for the Strictly Come Dancing live shows has been revealed as Saturday, September 21 with the final on December 14, as Strictly audience tickets are made available.

Strictly Come Dancing pros

The full line up of Strictly Come Dancing 2019 pros were announced earlier this year.

The only change from last year is the departure of Pasha Kovalev who announced his departure previously in 2019 "to find a new challenge".

Pasha said: "I've had 8 fantastic years, full of wonderful memories, thanks to the incredible partners, professionals and myriad of behind the scenes teams who all work to make Strictly the amazing production that it is.

Making up the male pros for 2019 are AJ Pritchard, Aljaž Škorjanec, Anton Du Beke, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe, Kevin Clifton and Neil Jones.

Joining them are, for the women, Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Janette Manrara, Karen Clifton, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova and Oti Mabuse.

Strictly Come Dancing judges

This year will see a new addition to the Strictly Come Dancing judging line up.

Earlier this year, ballet dancer Darcey Bussell made the surprise announcement that she was leaving Strictly Come Dancing after seven years.

She'll be replaced by Motsi Mabuse, the South African-born former German Latin Champion and South African Champion.

Motsi, who is sister to Strictly pro Oti, said: “I am absolutely overjoyed to be joining the Strictly judging panel. I have so much respect and admiration for the other three judges and hope to add my own bit of sparkle to the show. I can’t wait to get started!”

Motsi will join Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and head judge Shirley Ballas on the new Strictly Come Dancing panel.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be back to host.
