AJ Pritchard has revealed Amanda Holden is one of his dream partners.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional will be back in the ballroom this year, it was announced last week.

And he is hoping for a more 'mature' celebrity partner this year.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, AJ said: “I’d love to dance with Liz Hurley or Amanda Holden if the dynamic was right, I would always want to make it work.

“For me it’s always about respect for your partners and about making her feel comfortable the same way that I would with a younger person."

He branded Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden his "ideal, more mature partner."

AJ explained: “Height-wise she would be brilliant — she’d be perfect for lifts, she’s light as a feather and she’d look graceful doing the ballroom numbers.

“She’s gorgeous, she’s a good all-rounder there.”

Meanwhile, Neil Jones is hoping to finally get a celebrity partner after also being confirmed for this year's pro line up.

Neil has been on the show since 2016 but has yet to be paired up with a celeb on the main show.

He told Hello! magazine this week: "I'm happy with whatever happens but of course I would love to have a celebrity partner. It is nice as each year the support gets stronger and stronger."

"The celebrities have sometimes said: 'So who do you hope to dance with?' I say: 'I don't get anyone,' and they're like: 'Oh okay,' while I sometimes wish I did."

The BBC confirmed the 2019 Strictly Come Dancing pros earlier this year.

Alongside AJ and Neil, the male pros are Aljaž Škorjanec, Anton Du Beke, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe and Kevin Clifton. Pasha Kovalev won't be returning having decided to quit after 8 years.

The women joining them are Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Janette Manrara, Karen Clifton, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova and Oti Mabuse.

Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One later this year.
