David Walliams wants to do Strictly Come Dancing - so long as he dances with Anton Du Beke

David Walliams says he wants to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing's first ever same-sex couple.

The Britain's Got Talent judge says his mum has been encouraging him to sign up for the BBC One series.

And now, appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, David has admitted he would be up for the challenge.

He explained: "I don’t think I ever have been asked to do it. I would like to do it because there are two reasons.

"One is, you get to lose weight, it’s a brilliant way to lose weight. And the second thing is you often get close with the professional dancer, so I want Anton du Beke."

David joked: "That is my dream… It would be fun. I like the dancing… The day will come won’t it, when we will all be on there."

David will join Jonathan Ross on his show with Sir Michael Caine, Sue Perkins, Sir Mo Farah and George Ezra on Saturday night on ITV at 10:10PM.

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing's current series continues Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One.

Those left on the Strictly 2018 line up this year are vlogger Joe Sugg, Paralympian Lauren Steadman and BBC documentary maker Stacey Dooley.

Also still fighting for the glitterball is Steps star Faye Tozer and singer Ashley Roberts, who was in the bottom two for a second week running last week.

The remaining five couples in the competition will return this weekend where, for the first time this series, they will each be performing two dances in the hope of reaching the Grand Final on Saturday 15th of December.

With the bookies, Stacey is now the current favourite after the latest results.

Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for bookies BoyleSports commented: “The support for Stacey to win Strictly Come Dancing has been unwavering. For the past couple of weeks, she has been locked in a power struggle with Joe Sugg in the betting but going into the semi-final she is a very clear, red hot favourite after being backed into 7/10.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday from 6:35PM and Sunday at 7:20PM.
