The Steps singer is one of the remaining celebrity contestants on this year’s show, partnered with pro dancer Giovanni Pernice.

Every year much is made about the supposed Strictly ‘curse’, with the BBC One series blamed on breaking up even the strongest of couples.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s latest live show, married Faye confessed: “It’s always tricky being away from home. You just have to keep your head above water.”

She added: “We’ve just got to keep really tight as a family unit and make sure we communicate — I think that’s the only way.

“But it is tough being away from home because we miss each other.”

Faye made the comments to The Sun newspaper, where she also dismissed pictures of her and pro partner Gio getting ‘cosy’ on a lunch date.

“I can feed myself thank you very much. But I had a bit of salad on my face so he took it off and that was it,” she explained of the pictures.

Tonight’s Strictly will see Faye and Gio performing the Waltz to See The Day by Dee C. Lee.

Those left in the competition alongside the pair are Ashley Roberts & Pasha Kovalev, Charles Venn & Karen Clifton, Graeme Swann & Oti Mabuse, Joe Sugg & Dianne Buswell, Lauren Steadman & AJ Pritchard and Stacey Dooley & Kevin Clifton.

As well as their main routines tonight, they’ll have to impress the judges – Shirley Ballas, Dame Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood – with Strictly’s first ever Lindy-Hop-A-Thon.

All seven will Lindy Hop at the same time to impress the judges who will rank their performances. Valuable extra points can be won, which could turn the leaderboard upside down at this crucial stage of the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday 24 November, 6:50PM on BBC One.
