Strictly Come Dancing’s Joe Sugg talks about his ‘little bottom’

Joe Sugg’s bottom was one of the hot topics on Strictly Come Dancing last weekend.

The vlogger and pro partner Dianne Buswell danced American Smooth to Breaking Free from High School Musical.

While it won praise from the judges, Craig Revel Horwood had one critique: “That little bottom of yours really does stick out. You need to tuck that under.”

Speaking on It Takes Two this week about the routine, Joe said: “I loved the dance, it was such a beautiful dance. It looks great watching it back… except the bum.”

He added: “I played a bit of golf when I was younger and you have to stick your bum out in golf… but in rehearsals, I wasn’t doing it! I think it was just the nerves.”

Despite the bum issues, Joe was given plenty of encouragement by Dianne.

She said: “My goodness. He improves daily. We film our dance every single day we rehearse and we look back at it at the end of the live show and at our progress. It’s amazing to see how much he progresses throughout each day. He sleeps on it and comes back the next day, there’s something that clicks. By Saturday, I am amazed.”

This week Joe and Dianne will dance the Cha Cha to ‘Just Got Paid’ by Sigala feat. Ella Eyre and Meghan Trainor.

Joe said of the new routine: “It’s going well. It’s getting there. A whole new dance, all about straight legs.”

Elsewhere on It Takes Two, Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice spoke about their upcoming dance.

The pair will be performing the first Rumba of the series to ‘Chandelier’ by Sia

Giovanni said: “It’s going to be a proper rumba. There’s a lot of content. It’s a proper, proper rumba. It’s a difficult dance but she’s doing really well. There’s a lot of technique. There’s a lot of legs, a lot of hips, a lot of arms and so far so good.”

But Faye quipped of the notoriously difficult discipline: “It’s just not natural.”
