Bruno Tonioli will miss tonight's Strictly Come Dancing live show, it's been revealed.

For the second year in a row, Bruno will take a weekend off ahead of the Halloween special.

While last year saw no replacement, this year will see a guest judge joining the show.

The BBC teased: "This weekend the Strictly Family welcome an exciting special guest judge, who is standing in for Bruno Tonioli for one week only. Bruno returns for next weekend’s Halloween Spectacular."

The BBC has gone left field with its choice, recruiting US actor Alfonso Ribeiro.

The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air star previously won the US version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars, in 2014.

Bruno explained "I won't be here next week but I'm telling you, you'll be in very good hands.

"My good friend Alfonso has guest judged the show with us in America, he's great. I'll be back for Halloween."

Appearing on It Takes Two on Friday, Alfonso said: "I'm going to speak from the heart. I'm not going to try to rhyme."

Coming himself to Bruno, he joked: "There's not going to be a lot of arms flailing… Look, He is Italian. I get it. He speaks with his hands! I'm a brother from America so I'm gonna be kinda chill."

Alfonso went on to say he would be a "happy judge" and wanted to "lift" the celebs up.

"I know that sometimes there are some judges that want to knock everybody down… There's no specific names we're talking about! I would talk about the judges on the US version. I want to lift them up," he explained. "I've been on the other side, right?

"I know what it's like to give your heart or give everything you've got for a week, and then have someone come and just beat you down afterwards."

He added: "Even if the dance doesn't go well and the scores will represent definitely what I see on the dancefloor, but I'm going to try to be a positive twist on it and lift them up, and get them excited about going into the next week."

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be back in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom to host the show, as the quest to lift the Glitterball Trophy continues.

The 12 remaining couples will each take to the floor in a bid to impress Alfonso and Shirley Ballas, Dame Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel Horwood, as well as the viewers at home.

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 6:40PM this Saturday night on BBC One.

The results show airs at 7:45PM on Sunday night with a guest performance from Paloma Faith.
