The early favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing 2018 have been revealed.
Strictly Come Dancing fans got a glimpse of the talent, or lack of, that this year’s celebrity contestants are bringing to the dancefloor when the pre-recorded launch show aired on Saturday.
There has already been a shake-up in the betting as punters get behind their early favourites.
Pussycat Doll and professional dancer Ashley Roberts emerged as the early 4/1 favourite to take home the Glitterball trophy and has since tightened her grip as she shortens to 11/4.
Capital FM’s Vick Hope is the new second favourite at 9/2 after his odds were backed in from 8/1. Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules is third in line at 7/1 with BBC Three documentary maker Stacey Dooley next at 8/1, having shortened in from 12/1.
Completing the line-up are; British Paralympic athlete Lauren Steadman and This Morning’s Ranj Singh, both at 16/1, Eastenders’ Lee Ryan (20/1), BBC journalist Kate Silverton and English cricketer Graeme Swann, both 25/1, comedian Seann Walsh (50/1) and fashion TV presenter Susannah Constantine (66/1).
Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented: “Normally we don’t see movement in the Strictly Come Dancing betting until the launch night airs and viewers get their first look at what the celebrities are working with, but this year punters are out in force already with Ashley Roberts backed further as the favourite and Vick Hope taking over as the new second favourite.”
She added: “With Ashley at 11/4 and Vick at 9/2 its fair to say it’s a two horse race ahead of launch night, but everything can change once we see the group dance.”
