Strictly Come Dancing’s Karen and Kevin Clifton ‘can’t stand each other’ after split

Karen and Kevin Clifton are said to be doing their best to avoid one another on Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

The two Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers married in 2015, but earlier this year they confirmed rumours they were no longer together.

It had been reported that their personal split could lead to one of the duo leaving the show.

But the BBC confirmed both would be back – which has allegedly resulted in tension behind the scenes.

“While professionally they are prepared to work together, personally they can’t stand one another,” a source claimed this week.

The insider told The Sun newspaper: “They’re mainly speaking through a third person.”

However another source told the Daily Mirror that there was no problem and insisted that they “remain friends and speak regularly.”

Earlier in 2018, Kevin had said that the pair were “stronger than ever” as a dancing duo despite their personal split.

“Privately we are not together anymore but professionally we are stronger than ever before,” he told Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 breakfast show. “Dance is how we came together and is what glues us together.

“We’re still the best of friends – we still have a lot of love and respect for each other.

“What we’ve found is that since we’ve been honest with each other it’s unlocked our creativity.”

Before splitting, last year Karen opened up about the rumours regarding her relationship, saying: “We’re a regular couple, we’ve been together for seven years, and like any other relationship, you have ups and downs.

“We just need to keep pushing. Relationships take work. It’s not as easy as you think, especially being in a job like Strictly.

“We’re not a superhuman couple, we’re normal, so when things happen, we fight.”

During 2017’s series, Kevin seemed to make a public apology to Karen as he said in the live shows: “When Strictly is on I’m not the easiest person to live with.

“I go a bit mad so I’d like to say first of all thanks to my wife for putting up with me.”
