The Strictly Come Dancing 2018 launch date will take place in September on BBC One.

When does Strictly Come Dancing air on TV?

The pre-recorded launch will be filmed at the end of August.

The launch date on TV has been confirmed for a week later on Saturday, September 8 between 7:35PM and 9PM.

As always, the launch show will be introducing us to the celebrities and pro dancers and seeing them paired up.

Strictly will open with a spectacular red carpet event as the Strictly family dance to a medley of Nile Rodgers’ greatest hits performed by Chic and the man himself. Later in the show Craig David and Stefflon Don will join Nile and Chic to perform their new single.

The live shows will begin a couple of weeks later, confirmed to start on Saturday, September 22. They’ll run on Saturday nights through until December 15.

Strictly will also be going back to Blackpool, airing on Saturday, 17 November.

Strictly Come Dancing tickets

In order to be in with the chance of watching this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line up of celebs perform in person, you need to apply via the BBC’s ticket website.

Currently, applications are being accepted for the live shows by CLICKING HERE.

You can apply for a maximum of two tickets per each live show, filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, as well as the traditional Blackpool special.

Strictly 2018 line up

Author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner Katie Piper became the first celebrity to officially join Strictly this month.

She was quickly followed by Vick Hope, Capital Radio DJ and TV presenter, Steps star Faye Tozer and the first ever YouTube vlogger to take to the Strictly ballroom, Joe Sugg.

More confirmed names for the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 line up are England cricketer Graeme Swann, Red Dwarf actor Danny John-Jules and Dr Ranj Singh, TV Doctor on This Morning.

Also announced are BBC Three documentary maker Stacey Dooley, Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts, BBC News journalist Kate Silverton and comic Seann Walsh.

They’re joined Blue singer turned EastEnders actor Lee Ryan and Paratriathlete Lauren Steadman.

Television presenter and fashion journalist Susannah Constantine and Casualty actor Charles Venn complete the line up.
