The soap star is one of the favourites on the BBC One series, dancing with new pro dancer Nadiya Bychkova.

Her ex recently shot Davood a warning, but the EastEnders actor isn’t bothered by all the rumours.

Speaking to Closer magazine this week, Davood said: “[My wife] Isobel and I really understand each other.

“We met 16 years ago at University and we know each other inside out. She’s just wonderful. My life couldn’t be the way it is without her support.

“She laughs off the stories about the Strictly curse. I’m an actor and she’s used to me pretending to be someone’s lover or husband. ”

The dad of two added: “Our relationship is largely based on humour and taking the mick out of each other, and also spending time together. We love watching Family Guy and Alan Partridge.”

Meanwhile, Davood has revealed he’s on a ‘sex ban’ while competing on the show.

Although it’s not exactly through choice.

In a new interview the hunky soap star confessed he hasn’t the “time or energy” for relations with his wife, and has given her an “IOU”.

Davood said: “I haven’t got the time or the energy. At the moment, your head is full of steps, beats and timings. Your body is aching.

“I’ve been working quite late, getting in early. I sometimes forget to eat that’s how bad it is. Even my most basic needs are overlooked.”

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Davood added: “It’s maybe an IOU . . . You know in the back of your mind that, worst case scenario, it’s to the middle of December and not forever.

“I think she just wants to spend some normal time, more than just a Sunday, because that feels like a recharge day. You get all your energy back ready for the next week.”
