Strictly Come Dancing Christmas 2017 contestants: Celebrities revealed for Xmas cast

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas 2017 contestants have been revealed: Meet the celebrities on the Xmas cast year.

Six of the most-loved Strictly stars are returning to the dance floor for an all-star Christmas extravaganza special, coming to BBC One on Christmas Day.

This year the ladies on the cast are: Katie Derham (series 13); Judy Murray (series 12); and Kimberley Walsh (series 10).

Katie, who will be dancing with professional dancer Brendan Cole, said: “Being parachuted onto planet Strictly two years ago was the most joyful challenging but hilarious and brilliant thing I’ve ever done. I cannot wait to dust off the sequins and get back in the training room.”

Judy, who will be partnered with professional dancer Neil Jones, said: “I’m thrilled to bits to be part of Strictly’s Christmas Special. I promise to be every bit as bad as before and to enjoy it every bit as much.”

Kimberley, dancing again with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev, added: “I am absolutely thrilled to be getting my dancing shoes on again for the Strictly Christmas special. I loved my time on Strictly so much. It’s going to be wonderful to be back in the Strictly bubble for Christmas!”

The gentlemen hoping to sprinkle joy on the dancefloor are: Colin Jackson (series 3); Robbie Savage (series 9); and Jeremy Vine (series 13).

Colin, partnered with professional dancer Amy Dowden, said: “I am thrilled to be returning to Strictly for this year’s Christmas Special. Some time has passed since I danced my way to the final. However I’m looking forward to dusting off my dancing shoes and returning once again.”

Robbie, who will be dancing with professional dancer Dianne Buswell, added: “I’m delighted to be part of the Strictly Christmas Special. It’s been six years since I was on the show. I am still as bad as I was then! I’m looking forward to getting back on the Strictly dance floor.”

Jeremy, back to dance with professional dancer Karen Clifton, commented: “Me? Dance again? Yes, yes, YES! Now where are those shoes? Let me clean the dust off.”

For the 2017 Christmas special, show each of the six couples will perform a routine which tells the story of what everyone loves about Christmas in a bid to be crowned Christmas champions 2017.

Strictly Come Dancing Christmas 2017 will be hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman with festive foursome on the judging panel. Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli will be joined by Head Judge Shirley Ballas in her first appearance on a Strictly Christmas special.

The judges will mark the routines an a studio audience will decide the winner.

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will air on BBC One on Christmas Day and will be available on BBC iPlayer.
