Strictly Come Dancing pros had to keep covered up for their Disney dance

The Strictly Come Dancing 2017 professionals were told to cover up at the weekend.

Usually Strictly’s pros leave little to the imagination with their outfits, but Sunday night was very different.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers opened the show with a Disney themed medley featuring music from The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty And The Beast.

Viewers were full of praise for the routine, which was watched by over 9 million viewers on BBC One.

But Disney reportedly wanted to make sure that the routine was “in keeping with their brand.”

That included ensuring outfits were “in the spirit of Disney” and that even tattoos were covered up.

“Disney wanted to make sure the performance was in keeping with their brand,” a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “The display included some trademarked characters, like Flounder from the Little Mermaid and Simba from the Lion King.”

Strictly pro AJ Pritchard added to the tabloid: “You can’t have tattoos if you want to perform a Disney number.

“I don’t have any so Disney allowed me to take my top off. The others all have tattoos so they had to have their tops on. I felt a bit bad for them.”

Following the pro routine, the latest results show saw Reverend Richard Coles eliminated.

The remaining thirteen couples will take to the dancefloor again this week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on BBC One at 6:45PM.
