James Jordan has revealed he's suffered a nasty injury in training for Sunday's semi-final.

It's the penultimate show of the series this weekend and the final four celebrities will each need to perform two brand-new routines in the hope of securing a place in the Grand Final.

However James has reportedly left show bosses concerned he may be ruled out of the competition.

He confessed he's struggling in training after suffering a painful injury.

"I've ripped open my hernia. I've also got lower back pain because of it," he said. "I'm falling to bits."

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "Managing injuries is getting harder as you get older."

James is set to skate twice with professional skater Alexandra Schauman this weekend in a bid to make the final.

The pair sailed through last weekend's show thanks to viewer votes, with James tweeting: "YESSSSSSS!! 😍 Thank you to everyone who voted!! 😘😘😘 #teamjames"

Those in the bottom two last Sunday were Saara Aalto & her pro partner Hamish Gaman and Melody Thornton & her pro skater Alexander Demetriou.

The judging panel then chose who to save and who to send home and it was Melody who left Dancing On Ice 2019 last week.

Alongside Saara & Hamish and James & Alex, those left on the line up are singer Brian McFadden & pro skater Alex Murphy and Love Island's Wes Nelson & his pro partner Vanessa Bauer.

Wes is currently the hot favourite to win the series after scoring the highest marks of the weekend. His routine to Treasure by Bruno Mars scored him the first tens of the series, for a near perfect total score of 38.5 out of 40.

Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson from bookies BoyleSports commented: β€œWes Nelson can do no wrong on the ice with our customers as they are uninterested in anyone else in the Dancing On Ice market. Even at his 4/6 odds, he is the punters pick to win.”
