Saara Aalto will attempt a new daring move on Dancing On Ice 2019 this weekend.

The X Factor star and pro skater Hamish Gaman will take on the dangerous move for Sunday's show.

Described as a "never-seen-before trick", the so-called 'bladebanger' will see Saara spun around by Hamish by the blades of her skates.

Saara tweeted: "It’s not a headbanger it’s a bladebanger à la Saara&Hamish 😆 the scary thing is that nobody has really done it before.. not even Hamish. Just wait until you see it tomorrow 😉 #teamnofear"

The risky routine follows Saara admitting she's found it hard to sleep because of injuries from training.

“It’s quite awful. I couldn’t really sleep because my rib is hurting so much,” Saara told the BBC Breakfast show this week.

She explained: "My partner Hamish [Gaman], we have this one lift where he is having his arms around my ribs and he’s really strong and sometimes it hurts.”

Saara admitted she had found the series a lot harder than she expected it to be.

"I was like ‘yeah I used to skate a little bit when I was a child, so I can manage this.’ No. It’s so terrible. It’s difficult," Saara confessed. “I’m not naturally very athletic so it’s hard for me to find my lines and I’m not very flexible.

“It’s not my thing. I’m trying my best.”

Meanwhile, Saara has ruled out making a return to The X Factor for a rumoured all stars series.

"I just did it two and a half years ago so I feel it's a bit early," she told The Sun. "I'm doing Dancing on Ice and I'm just exhausted. I've done so many reality shows now."

Alongside Saara & Hamish, those left on the Dancing On Ice line up include singer Brian McFadden & pro skater Alex Murphy and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom & his professional skater Brandee Malto

They're joined by Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton & her pro skater Alexander Demetriou, and Love Island's Wes Nelson & his pro partner Vanessa Bauer.
