Dancing On Ice 2019: Brian McFadden WILL skate tonight despite injury

BRIAN INJURY STILLS 3

Brian McFadden will be performing on Dancing On Ice 2019 tonight despite a painful injury.

The Westlife singer had hurt his back during training for Sunday's show.

It followed on from a nasty shoulder injury earlier in the series, where Brian damaged his rotator cuff.

A spokesperson for Dancing On Ice said earlier this week: "Brian has a bad back and is currently being monitored by our show physio."

Now Brian has said he will be skating - but is nervous for the live show.

"I’m just going to kind of wing it tonight, so it should be interesting," he said.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "This is really frustrating for me because for weeks I’ve been nervous about getting here and nervous about just doing my first dress rehearsal in the studio.

“I do it and I love it and I was so happy, so relaxed, ready to go and this stupid shoulder has literally put me right back to the start again. But now I’m nervous and I don’t know what’s gonna happen.”
The news comes after Dancing On Ice 2019 associate creative director Daniel Whiston shared all on the huge amount of injuries backstage.

"Gemma Collins' fall last Sunday seemed to have been a bit of a bad omen for what awaited our celebrities in training this week," said Dan, a former pro skater on the show, "James Jordan fell on Monday hurting his hip, Wes Nelson fell and banged his knee later in the week and a few days ago Melody Thornton fell heavily on her chin and also hurt her shoulder.

"It’s usually cold bugs that spread on this series, not injuries!"

It was Loose Women’s Saira Khan who became the latest celeb to exit the competition last weekend, leaving eight celebs on the line up.

Alongside Brian, those now making up the Dancing On Ice cast include reality star Gemma Collins, Coronation Street actress Jane Danson, X Factor favourite Saara Aalto and Pussycat Dolls singer Melody Thornton.

Completing the line up are cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, Love Island’s Wes Nelson and Strictly Come Dancing dancer James Jordan.

Dancing On Ice 2019 continues this Sunday at 6PM on ITV.
