Max Evans will skate with a new pro partner on Dancing On Ice 2018 this weekend.

Max had been partnered with Ale Izquierdo but she has been ruled out of Sunday's show due to illness.

Instead, the rugby star will perform with Brandee Malto, who was partnered with Antony Cotton up until his elimination last weekend.

A spokesperson for ITV said: "Owing to illness, Max Evan's partner Ale will not be performing this weekend.

"He will instead be dancing alongside Brandee Malto."

Ale tweeted: "Sad to announce that unfortunately I won’t be able to take part of the competition this Sunday due to being diagnosed with the flu.

"Wishing the best to my partner this Sunday. He will be skating with my really good friend Brandee! Im sure they will do really good! "

The news follows Alex Beresford confessing his latest Dancing On Ice performance is also in doubt due to illness.

ITV weatherman Alex has revealed he's only trained for 45 minutes so far, after pro skater Brianne Delcourt fell ill.

"Brianne is ill - she could only train for 45 minutes yesterday then she had to go home, she felt fluey," he said on ITV's Good Morning Britain.

Alex then revealed: "I woke up this morning and had a message from her and she says she's feeling worse. I don't know what's happening [with the show] - we've got a massive day."

Dancing On Ice will host a fairy tale themed week of performances on Sunday night with five couples remaining.

Last week Donna Air and Antony Cotton became the latest celebs to be eliminated from the competition after a three way skate off.

Those now left on the Dancing On Ice line up alongside Alex and Brianne and Max and his new partner Brandee are Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent and her pro partner Matej Silecky.

Also returning to the ice next weekend are Love Island's Kem Cetinay and his pro partner Alex Murphy, X Factor's Jake Quickenden and skater Vanessa Bauer.
