The line-up for the revived skating contest is slowly filling up, with weatherman Alex Beresford announcing his involvement on Good Morning Britain earlier today.

This afternoon it was Donna’s turn to reveal she’ll be taking part when she visited Loose Women for a natter.

“It is absolutely terrifying, it’s exciting though,” she commented. “It’s looking like it’s gonna be a great series this year, they’ve got some really fun people.

“I’m doing loads of work. Apparently my posture’s terrible and I need to build more core strength.

“We’ve got to do thirty hours’ training before we get to work with our partners. I’ve met my partner, he’s gorgeous, he’s great. He’s an amazing skater.”

However, Donna’s female relatives seem to be more excited that she’ll be competing against Love Island winner Kem Cetinay.

“My daughter’s like, ‘mum, you’re gonna be so embarrassing’,” she laughed. “Now all the girls in my house think it’s really cool because Kem from Love Island’s on it!”

Donna – who started out on CBBC’s Byker Grove – also gave us a rough idea of when we can expect Dancing On Ice to be back on telly.

“I think the first live show is the beginning of Jan, round about the 4th or 5th,” she said. “Don’t quote me on that!”

Donna has put herself through a dangerous reality TV show before.

The 38-year-old appeared on diving contest Splash! in January 2013, but did not make it past her heat.

Other celebs pulling on their skates for Dancing On Ice’s tenth series include sportsmen Monty Panesar and Max Evans, singer Cheryl Baker and Corrie actress Brooke Vincent.

There’s also two more reality stars: Great British Bake Off champion Candice Brown and X Factor finalist Jake Quickenden.

ITV bosses will name the final three contenders in the coming days.
