Bosses have begun revealing which famous faces are taking part in the revival of ITV’s all-star skating contest.

Yesterday, Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent was unveiled as the first contestant, and today Cheryl announced that she’ll be taking to the ice.

The singer broke the news on the latest edition of Lorraine, admitting she “fell over a couple of times” on her first day of training.

“I started yesterday and it was such huge fun, it really was,” said Cheryl. “I didn’t know what to expect, but as of yesterday, I am feeling nervous.

“I thought it was hard. They were giving me all these things to do and movements, saying ‘now go on one leg’. I thought, ‘I can’t do that!’

“Is it too late to say no?!”

Cheryl is best known for her time in Bucks Fizz, the pop group that won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest for the UK with ‘Making Your Mind Up’.

Alongside fellow original members Mike Nolan and Jay Aston and newcomer Bobby McVay, she is now part of spin-off group ‘The Fizz’.

‘The F-Z of Pop’, their first album in three decades, charted at 25 last month.

Dancing On Ice is expected to return to our screens in January, nearly four years after its original run ended.

Presenters Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and controversial judge Jason Gardiner are all returning to the show.

Olympic skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are also back, but instead of coaching the contestants, they will be the head judges.
