The official Dancing On Ice 2013 tour has been axed, but this year's stars will still be hitting the road.
The series’ annual live show was axed this year for the first time, with sources blaming the recession.
An insider told The Sun newspaper last month: “It was thought that with the recession, the tour wouldn’t be a great idea. But, actually, fans are really missing it.”
However some of this year's stars will now be competing in an unofficial tour, called, inspiringly called Celebrities On Ice.
Semi-finalists from Dancing On Ice - soap star Matt Lapisnkas, rugby hunk Gareth Thomas and Olympian Beth Tweddle - will be on the line up.
They'll be joined by former Dancing On Ice stars Gareth's fellow rugby player Kyran Bracken and X Factor star and Chico, as well as Christopher Biggins.
The tour starts in Birmingham in April with dates in Cardiff, Glasgow, Carlisle, Manchester, Newcastle, Scarborough, Northampton and Bournemouth.
Christopher Dean previously insisted that the ice concert would be back in arenas up and down the country next year.
“The Dancing On Ice tour will be back next year as well so we will do something together with that,” he said. “In total we have been skating together for 40 years. Each year it gets harder.”
