Michael McIntyre hosts The Wheel on BBC One – here’s who’s taking part and all you need to know.


Called The Wheel, the BBC describes the series as “a brand new feel-good game show.”

Hosted by comedian Michael McIntyre, each episode sees a mixture of great contestants, celebrity guests and laugh out loud moments as The Wheel brings a brand new spin to Saturday nights on BBC One.

In each episode three contestants hope to answer their way to a fortune, guided by seven celebrity experts. Can the famous faces help them to win life-changing cash? That all depends on the spin of The Wheel.

Episodes will air weekly on Saturday nights on BBC One, plus a one-off Christmas special airing on Christmas Day.

The Wheel celebrities and episodes

Episode 1 – Saturday, 28 November
In the first episode, the celebrity experts are Countdown’s Susie Dent; singer Jason Donovan; TV presenter Dermot O’Leary; Spice Girl Mel B; fashion expert Gok Wan; showbiz journalist Richard Arnold and TV personality Joey Essex.

Episode 2 – Saturday, 5 December
This week’s celebrity helpers are Esme Young, sewing expert; Jermaine Jenas, who will come equipped with knowledge on the Premier League; Katherine Ryan, who will be testing her knowledge on the Kardashians; Melvin Odoom, music expert; Sam Thompson, on all things Chelsea; Vanessa Feltz on current affairs and Wayne Sleep, whose category is ballet.


Episode 3 – Saturday 12 December
This week’s celebs include Alison Hammond on television; Frankie Dettori, horse racing star; Gareth Malone, singing expert; Maggie Aderin-Pocock, space scientist; Maura Higgins representing the Ireland category; Reverend Richard Coles on Religion and Tony Blackburn on the 60s category.

Episode 4 – Saturday 19 December
This week’s seven celebrities and categories are: numbers expert Carol Vorderman, Cherish Finden on desserts, Chris Kamara on football, Gemma Collins on all things Essex, literature expert Gyles Brandreth, Karim Zeroual on children’s television and Professor Green on rap music.

Episode 5 (Christmas special) – Friday 25 December
On The Wheel, and helping the three celebrity contestants raise as much money as possible, are seven celebrity experts who come with their own Christmas categories: Alexander Armstrong, Christopher Biggins, Clare Balding, Howard Donald, Kate Bottley, Olly Smith and Ainsley Harriott will take their turns to help answer questions on everything from Christmas dinner to panto! But whose help will be a gift and who has got their traditions in a twist?

Episode 6 – Saturday, 2 January
This episode’s seven celebrities and categories are: renowned tennis coach Judy Murray on tennis, television presenter Kate Humble on farm animals, the hilarious Omid Djalili on stand-up comedy, BBC meteorologist Owain Wyn Evans on weather, radio DJ Roman Kemp on pop music, filmmaker Stacey Dooley on travel, and social media sensation Vikkstar on gaming.

Details on further episodes are to be confirmed.

The series has ten episodes, including the Christmas special.
