Michelle Visage has responded to claims that she was ‘snubbed’ from the Strictly Come Dancing tour.
The weekend saw Michelle become the latest celebrity to bow out of the BBC One show.
It was reported before her exit that Michelle was ‘at war’ with bosses after being turned away from next year’s tour line up.
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine today (November 19), Michelle admitted she was “gutted” to have not been asked to take part.
The Drag Race UK star said: “I wanted to do it. I wasn’t asked to do it. I think there was a complication at the beginning with the dates.
“But at the end of the day it’s going to be a great tour, I am not going to be on it. I would love to. I’m gutted.
“But again it’s the way it goes. Sometimes you have to go out with your head held high.”
Michelle went on to slam allegations that she had ‘stormed out’ following her exit at the weekend.
She reacted: “Storm out of where? They said I stormed out of actual Blackpool! Did I go into the ocean? Where did I go? Did I go to Liverpool or Manchester?
“I went to the [after] party until about 3.30 in the morning and I was dancing all night with Neil, Alex, Oti and Kelvin and Gio. We were just having a really good time.”
Meanwhile, Michelle admitted her dance on Saturday was a” “big risk” after performing a Couple’s Choice routine to Madonna’s Vogue.
She said: “Dance is so much more than Latin and ballroom…That was a big risk and we knew going into it. I wanted to shed light on people who don’t get the recognition they deserve. We stand by our dance. We loved it.
“That’s where I grew up, so for me [the vogue] was a little tribute. It was a little nod to my history.”
Michelle’s exit has left six celebrities on the Strictly Come Dancing line up.
They will return to the dancefloor this Saturday night fighting for a place in the Quarter Finals.
Strictly Come Dancing is back on Saturday 23rd November at 7pm with the results show on Sunday 24th November at 7.15pm on BBC One.
