Love Island’s Megan Barton Hanson has said she plans to avoid reality TV in order to become a presenter.
Megan, who appeared on ITV2’s Love Island in 2018, revealed hopes of doing more ‘serious’ TV work.
She said this week: “I want to get in to more presenting, like I love what Stacey Dooley does and I think I’ve had such an interesting past and I love to speak about mental health and working in the sex industry and stuff like that.
“So I want to do more serious – my days of reality are done,” Megan added.
Speaking to Heart breakfast, Megan went on to rule out following her ex Wes Nelson onto a show like Dancing On Ice.
“Dancing on Ice? Could you imagine me? I can’t even dance let alone on ice. No,” she said.
Megan recently announced that she and Wes had “decided to separate” last month after around six months together.
The pair coupled up on last summer’s series of Love Island, where they made it to the final.
Now Megan has opened up about their split in this week’s Grazia magazine.
She told the publication: “Break-ups in the public eye are horrible, it seems like there’s always one person who tries to vilify the other. But there’s no need for it.
“It all ended very amicably. I really love Wes as a person, but we realised we are in very different stages of our lives and our priorities are different. I’m 24 and by the time I’m 30 I want to be engaged. Wes is only 20. He’s living his best life.”
Megan described the split as “heartbreaking”, adding: “I really thought he was The One and that we’d be together forever. I wanted a serious relationship, so it’s heartbreaking for me that it didn’t work out.”
Meanwhile, ITV have confirmed that Megan will be one of the women appearing on this year’s All New Monty 2019 line up. She’ll strip off to raise awareness of cancers in intimate areas of the body.
Also on the female cast are legendary tennis icon Martina Navratilova, EastEnders star Laurie Brett, Love Island’s Megan Barton-Hanson, So Solid Crew’s Lisa Maffia, TOWIE’s Danielle Armstrong, and Benidorm’s Crissy Rock.
