The 2021 National Television Awards are on their way – here’s all you need to know!

The National Television Awards celebrate the best shows and stars from UK telly and will once again take place at the O2 Arena.

Originally due to take place in January, the 2021 National Television Awards will now be taking place in September.

National Television Awards date

The 2021 NTAs will take place TONIGHT, Thursday, 9 September 2021 live at the O2 arena. The show will air live on ITV and ITV Hub from 7:30PM.

The Masked Singer’s Joel Dommett will host the ceremony, taking over from David Walliams.

Joel said: “It’s a huge honour to be hosting the NTAs this year! It still feels like someone has made a wonderful error.

“I really, really love TV and can’t wait to celebrate the best stuff from what’s been a very weird year or so.”

He added: “I’m also really hoping The Masked Singer wins something so I can present an award to myself. That’s a creative narcissist’s DREAM!”

Nominees revealed!

The full list of National TV Awards nominations for this year were revealed in August.

Bridgerton, Des, It’s A Sin and Normal People will face off in the Best Drama category while Strictly, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, The Masked Singer and Britain’s Got Talent battle it out to be named Best Talent Show.

In the award for best TV Presenter, Ant and Dec once again make the short list having won the title for a record-breaking 18 years. Hoping to FINALLY end their reign are the likes of Bradley Walsh, Holly Willoughby, Piers Morgan and Alison Hammond.

Votes must be in by 12PM on Thursday, 9 September 2021 ahead of the awards being given out live that evening.

NTA’s Executive Producer, Kim Turberville, commented: “We are so excited to be back to celebrate a remarkable TV year like no other. There is a wealth of great television to recognise and we are delighted to have Joel at the helm.
