Britain’s Got Talent 2019: Mark McMullan stuns with Les Misérables cover

Mark McMullan wowed the Britain’s Got Talent 2019 judges this weekend with a cover from Les Misérables.

He told the judges how he wanted to sing Bring Him Home from the hit stage musical for his brother, Declan.

Mark explained: “Bring Him Home is a very personal song to me and my family. About six years ago my older brother took sick from a brain injury and he was left with a condition called Locked In Syndrome.

“It basically means he’s trapped inside his own body and the only thing he can really do is here so music became a big comfort for him.”

“Everything in my life lined up to this moment to bring me here. Half of me is here today for me to pursue my career in music and the other half is here to do them proud,” added Mark.

After singing, Mark got a standing ovations from judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Alesha Dixon commented: “It was a very confident, self assured performance. It had a lot of meaning to it. I though it was a perfect tribute to your brother.”

Simon Cowell concluded: “Declan is lucky to have a brother like you. I wouldn’t be surprised if you start getting calls from West End and Broadway producers because you’re that good.”
