Who is Pearly King on The Masked Dancer CONFIRMED in final – spoiler!
The identity of Pearly King on The Masked Dancer 2022 was revealed in tonight’s final.
The Masked Dancer UK second season concluded on Saturday night on ITV.
The show sees celebs compete to put on the most impressive dance performance while keeping their identities a secret under captivating masks and costumes.
One of the characters on the competition was a giant lion called Pearly King.
Who is Pearly King on The Masked Dancer?
In the final, Pearly King finished in third place and took off their mask to reveal Strictly Come Dancing legend Bruno Tonioli.
Of signing up to the show thinking it was The Masked Singer, Bruno joked, “I said, ‘Singer, oh yeah I’ll do it. Dancer?? You’ve got to be kidding me!’ You should always read your contract.”
He added of his character: “It had such swagger, it’s good doing something so out of your comfort zone.”
In the first episode Pearly King performed to The Jam classic Going Underground. Their following performances have included I Like The Way You Move by The Bodyrockers, Hard To Handle by The Black Crowes and House Of Fun by Madness.
In their clue packages were links to London’s East End and acting. Pearly King said they “ruled another land” and offered up a cryptic clue: “My ‘mane’ is sometimes all I need to feel confident.”
The panel correctly guessed Bruno was behind in the mask ahead of the unmasking.
Other guesses from the panel included the likes of Danny Dyer, Gino D’Acampo and Chris Eubank.
The Masked Dancer UK airs on ITV and the ITV Hub.
More contestants on the show this year are Onomatopoeia, Prawn Cocktail, Cactus, Sea Slug, Pillar and Post, Tomato Sauce, Odd Socks, Candlestick, Astronaut, Scissors and Pig.
The Masked Dancer season 2 is fronted by Joel Dommett together with a panel of Peter Crouch, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and Davina McCall.
