The Voice UK contestant Lauren Bannon says it was her wife who chose her mentor.
27-year-old Lauren from Weymouth is one of 8 contestants currently left on The Voice this year.
Lauren joined Team Olly in the blind audition stages, on the advice of her partner.
“Becky [Lauren’s wife] said: ‘If Olly turns, pick him!’ She would love to meet him!” Lauren revealed this week.
Speaking of how she met her other half, Lauren went on to tell OK! magazine: “It was terribly glamorous – it was at a nightclub. She was throwing some shapes on the dancefloor and I was trying incredibly hard not to look straight because I always do.
“She didn’t know my name for a whole week! When she said ‘Do you want to put your number in my phone?’, I said ‘You don’t remember my name, do you?’ So I didn’t tell her for a whole week! But it just goes to show, treat them mean, keep them keen, because she kept me!”
Meanwhile, Lauren said of working with Olly: “He is actually really hands on. He’s been great so far.
“There have been off-screen rehearsals, where he doesn’t have to be there but he still made it. Having done The X Factor, he knows what position we’re all in, which is quite nice.”
Tonight will see Team Olly’s Lauren singing in the live final.
