Traitors cast
Traitors is a compulsive spy thriller that takes us behind the scenes of a seismic moment in global history, through the eyes of one young woman caught in the middle of it.
An intimate epic set in 1945 London, Traitors is the dangerous, enthralling story of Feef, who is seduced by a rogue American spy into spying on her own country. Her task? To uncover a Russian agent in the heart of the British Government.
In the first episode, Feef (Emma Appleton) is midway through training to spy in Nazi enemy territory. She longs for adventure, but her dreams are thwarted by the end of the war, which also forecasts the end of her thrilling affair with her older US secret-service lover Peter (Matt Lauria).
Instead, Feef finds herself shunted into totally different enemy territory; a mundane desk job within the British civil service. So when she’s approached by Peter and his colleague Rowe (Michael Stuhlbarg), they offer her purpose – to use her position to collaborate with the Americans against the burgeoning Soviet threat. But unknown to Feef, Rowe has a hidden agenda.
After the shockwave of Hiroshima seals the outcome of WWII, US President Truman disbands his wartime secret service. Rowe, however, is not built for civilian life. He foresees the Cold War and is determined to prove to Washington that America needs its own intelligence agency.
Feef has inadvertently signed up to a dangerous but exhilarating mission: to get into the heart of government, and to become closer to Hugh (Luke Treadaway), the charismatic young Labour MP who is drawn to her.
There are six episodes of Traitors. You can watch online and catch up via All4 in the UK.
