The Voice UK 2019: Trio The Flat Pack win over the coaches

A trio of painters and decorators won over the coaches on The Voice UK this weekend.

The Voice UK continued on Saturday 12th January at 8pm on ITV with its second round of blind auditions.

The search to find the voice of 2019 was back with coaches Jennifer Hudson, Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am all back in their iconic red chairs. They are seeking the very best solo singers, duos and, in a competition first this year, trios.

One three piece hoping for a spot on the teams this week were called The Flat Pack.

Duncan, Jamie and Nathan are three best friends from Brighton who work painting and decorating jobs together and share a love of singing.

This weekend the performed Luck Be A Lady by Frank Sinatra in a bid to impress the superstar coaches.

After the first round of blind auditions last week, Team Tom and Team Jennifer both have the two acts while Team Will and Team Olly have one act each.

That meant there was plenty of room for The Flat Pack – and they won their way onto Olly’s team.

You can watch their blind audition in the video above…

As always, the four coaches are after teams of ten acts from the blind auditions.

Other acts on The Voice UK auditions this Saturday included Broadway and West End singer Cedric Neal, 16-year-old student Bukky Oronti and Dean Mac who got the coaches hot under the collar as he sang Pony by Ginuwine.

The next round sees the Battles and the coaches reduce their teams by half but, with the opportunity to steal one act each from another coach, they will take 6 through per team to the Knockouts. Those lucky enough to make it through the Knockouts will earn a place in the live semi-final where the public will decide who makes it through to the final. Ultimately the viewers will choose their winner in the spectacular live finale.

The winning act will be set on the road to realising their artistic ambitions with the ultimate prize of a recording contract with music giants Polydor Records.

The Voice UK airs at 8PM on ITV on Saturday nights with host Emma Willis.
